55 MONTHS

I have been so busy and lazy that I haven't posted for months now. In fact,I just realized that I haven't posted for 3 months now. During this period, the aquarium suffered from high kH and was suffering from a bad case of nuisance algae when several corals died back, including the ones that had been growing tremendously well for me for the past year.

Today, the aquarium is still recovering from the aftermath. I couldn't believe that it didn't occur to me to replace my phosphate remover media when the algae overtook everything but now the algae is more in control.

Aquarium 3 (3 x 1.5 x 1.5 feet and sump - 250 litres)
I rescaped some of the rocks recently to give more space for the water to flow through them instead of covering every possible opening between the rocks.

The livestock update is as follows:
  • Fishes

    51 MONTHS

A quarter of the year is officially gone and I have almost come to a halt when it involves visiting the lfs. This post is a day late.

    Aquarium 3 (3 x 1.5 x 1.5 feet and sump - 250 litres)
My aquarium is almost fully stocked and I don't have room for more stuff, much as I want to. I am not in a hurry to replace my lost hammer coral etc and prefer to look out for something good. I suspect that my other gsp is dead since no polyps have appeared since 2 weeks ago.

Since losing my beautiful Flame Angel, I managed to introduce a pair of them on 16 Mar 17 into the aquarium. As they were introduced at the same time, there was minimal aggression when the slightly bigger one went after the smaller fella but it managed to either fight back or swam away. They have also started to eat pellet food.

The green bubble algae was so irritating so I cleared most of it.

the gsp that I suspects to be dead

I rotated this Pocci around, hopefully the bare corner will grow back

the only new Acropora bought in March

the brown polyps Stylophora turned green when I moved it towards the Hydra 52 HD

some parts of this Pocci are dead

the unknown red algae is growing slowly

      the Sympodium recovered too

I am curious to see what colour develops from this Acropora

      43 MONTHS 5 DAYS

      the intense green Acropora
As I acquired a few sps yesterday, I thought it might be good for me to show it here before I forget all about it. Unfortunately, I do think the aquarium that I see in person looked better than in the photos here. Somehow, the iphone camera couldn't pick up what I really see.
an early Acropora frag that I saved from a parent colony with stn

one of my favourite Acropora now with pinkish green body

a FTS that looked kind of empty but better in person

      the right side

      the left side
a browned out Millepora that I bought from Iwarna yesterday

one of 3 new sps I bought yesterday

      the second new sps

the third one with a relocated Duncan coral far far away from the gsp

      a pinkish Acropora frag

the top view of the right side

the supposedly browned out Millepora which I hope will colour up

I feel this sps has potential to look great! we shall see

      close-up of this Acropora

      a relocated green Pocci

the Acropora with a green base and more polyps extension

the Acropora valida is still small

a relocated Goniopora is now opening up happily
my big Royal Gramma in front of my only pink Acropora digitata from Taiwan!

      a different gsp

my only growing plating Montipora with a green Acropora

i also shifted this large hammer coral

a new Zoas rock which is hard to see from here

I wonder if a black background would look better?

      top view

the same Zoas rock seen from the top with blue Zoas

the Taiwan mushroom coral with other Acropora and Pocci frags
