27 MONTHS

This is another slow month and I hardly visited many lfs. In fact, I don't even have time to go to the Pasir Ris Farmway area at all.

The updates are presented below.

Aquarium 1 (1 ft cube - 27 litres)
Ok, the Possum Wrasse is still around and for that, I am happy because I was worried it wouldn't have enough things to eat. This is not the first Possum Wrasse I kept so it is kind of special for me.

This aquarium is seriously lacking in colours and I vow to colour it up.

    Aquarium 3 (3 x 1.5 x 1.5 feet and sump - 250 litres)
Somehow, all the Poccis in this aquarium started to go downhill. I do not know the cause but I suspect it's partly due to my neglect in the daily dosing. Most of them are goners now and another possibility is a bleaching event brought about by high temperatures again.

I will also gradually remove the sand because they are causing sand storms every now and then and contributed to some coral deaths when the sand covers them for extensive periods.

I am having problems with my SPS and upon a recent visit to Aquarist Chamber, I saw how beautiful their LPS aquariums are. Perhaps I should just stick to LPS and soft corals for the time being.

By the way, I managed to net the Six Line Wrasse, which was sleeping in a Montipora digitata sps and brought it to the office. Now I have the chance to introduce other wrasses and fishes, which didn't make it previously because of the very aggressive nature of the resident Six Line Wrasse.

      Aquarium 4 with IOS (Office)
I have posted this aquarium before and in reality, it looks better in person than in these photos. The Caulerpa used to grow well but now it's gone and overtaken by the green sea grapes that's growing at the top left of the photos. The Anthelia that spread all over was recently receding too leaving the sand bed rather empty.

At the height of my work display, I didn't notice that the original Yellow Tang disappeared. So I got a new one to replace it, together with a pair of small Royal Grammas. I also found that a shrimp that I introduced weeks ago is still around. A Bubble Coral that didn't do well in my main aquarium also appears to be recovering here.

Then there was the other office Aquarium 5 which I have never shown.

Anyway: the inhabitants of this aquarium are:
      • blue yellow Damsel
      • golden Maroon Clown
      • Yellow Tang
      • pair of Royal Grammas
