Ok, I must admit now that the chiller does seem to have some effect on some of the SPS. Although I lost some SPS recently, I attributed it more to my negligence and poor husbandry when I was caught up with other stuff to spend time on them.

I lost a number of LPS too, such as the bubble corals, golden hammer, octo coral. My guess for their demise is I placed them on the sand bed and the bully maroon clown loves to agitate the sand and create sandstorms in its territory, causing them to constantly be covered with sand.

For these two weeks, I was battling a diatoms problem and didn't know what was wrong until yesterday when I found a disintegrated leather coral in my sump, which emitted a rotten egg smell, which I suspected to be hydrogen sulphide. Thank goodness I siphoned out much of the debris and detritus and changed almost 2 pails of water and all live stock are fine when they look really stressed out yesterday.

I wasn't particularly busy this month but the SPS acquisitions were far and few. A few older SPS got bleached but the majority seemed alright. Ok, I have to admit that the lowered temperature must have helped partially since this is considered one of my more successful months in SPS keeping.

Aquarium 3 (3 x 1.5 x 1.5 feet and sump - 250 litres)
I am quite sad that one of those mornings, I stopped seeing the Majestic Angel and I have never seen it since. Similarly, the Fire Gobies also seemed to disappear finally.

Last month, I mentioned that the Red Planet Acro was like an indicator species on the health of my reef aquarium. This month it looked even better with a green base and many extended polyps. However, the lights don't seemed to be able to colour up the majority of the SPS and they seemed to be less vibrant in colour than when I bought it.

On the other hand, some of my LPS e.g. bubble coral, octo-coral, flower pot coral, though seemed to deteriorate slowly and waste away gradually.

I have also added 3 zoas frags from Steven of LCK201 but a few earlier ones melted away after I attempted to detach them from the frag and pasted them directly onto the rocks etc.

I am too embarrassed to show photos of this aquarium. Recently, I realized the corals in here were bleaching and I nailed down the cause to the temperature, which was abnormally high. So I am still contemplating whether to continue with this aquarium.

I made an impulse buy on 1 Apr and bought the Hailea HS-28A (1/10 hp) chiller from Aquamarin.

I was supposed to post the following photos earlier but was too tired and lazy and procrastinated till now to do so because the end of the month is coming soon. I have decided to forego SPS for the time being since I am not doing a good job and to focus on LPS and soft corals etc. 

Strangely, my Maxspect Razor Nano blue lights for my Aquarium 1 were burnt out yesterday. I was here when the lights flickered on and off until the blue lights were no longer on. I was playing with all the lights that I have yesterday and cut my left thumb with a pair of scissors and there was blood everywhere. The pain lasted me through the night. I replaced the lights with a simple 18W Green Element lights but it was flickering just now too. I wonder what is the problem?
