Day 3 was exciting because I managed to buy a $23 bigger tank that I was thinking of and some other materials. Compared to the earlier one which was all of 10 litres, this one measures 30 cm by 30 cm by 30 cm and has a capacity of 27 litres.
So, I dumped in two bags of washed marine sand and transferred the 3 live rocks and corals over. The water was still slightly cloudy though.
By day 5, the water cleared up but most of the mushrooms didn't make it. The Kenya Tree Coral was a sorry mess that seemed doomed. On the skeleton that was once a coral were a number of small filter feeding organisms. My camera wasn't able to capture them well but they were apparent by their white circle around them and their 2-dimensional filtering fans.
NB on 11 Jan 13: The mystery is solved. The fan-like filter feeding creatures are actually barnacles. Cool!
